Help me to

Sometimes teeth are so aged or damaged that your dentist may recommend fully replacing them with a complete solution. Although not a first-choice in preventative dentistry, improvements in modern dentistry mean that dentures can look natural and greatly improve your quality of life.

What are dentures?

When teeth are so damaged that reconstruction or repair is no longer possible, a denture is one option for replacing missing teeth. The teeth themselves are typically acrylic, with options for either acrylic or chrome bases – each offer different advantages, about which your dentist can offer you advice.

We offer different options of denture, depending on the needs of the patient. Partial dentures are potentially useful for restoring parts of an otherwise healthy mouth that have suffering from dental trauma. Meanwhile complete dentures fully replace the teeth, following the loss of all teeth in a single arch

Another alternative is a flexible denture, which may improve comfort when resting on the gums as they are made from a softer material. They can also have a clear base which allows the natural colour of the gums to come through.

What types of denture do we offer?

  • Acrylic – Pink or gum coloured made from artificial acrylic resin
  • Chrome metal – Very strong, light weight, and thinner than acrylic
  • Flexible – Clear, durable, and do not require clasps or adhesives to hold in place.
  • Immediate replacement – Temporary replacements until your permanent denture is ready, or whilst waiting for an implant placement
  • Partials – Replacements for only one or a few teeth.
  • Complete – Replacements for all of your upper or lower teeth.
  • Implant retained – Implants are used to secure the denture to the jaw rather than placing them on the gums

Why would I need dentures?

Dentures are useful after the complete or partial removal of teeth to restore the natural look and function of your mouth. They sit directly on the gums and unlike some implant procedures, for example, do not require bone grafts and have few complications.

We offer immediate dentures which can be fitted on the same day as an extraction, providing comfort and confidence for patients waiting for permanent dentures or implants.

What are the benefits of dentures?

  • Fastest most flexible solution to missing teeth.
  • Most types of dentures avoid the need for intrusive procedures.
  • Modern dentures are easy to get used to wearing, look realistic, are comfortable to wear, and help improve your quality of life.
