Chrome dentures consist of a metal alloy framework with acrylic gums and teeth moulded onto it for a natural appearance.

The metal framework is much smaller than an acrylic denture allowing for improved comfort, whilst metal or tooth coloured clasps can be placed to achieve a tight fit. They generally require the presence of some healthy natural teeth to provide greater anchorage. Their increased retention can reduced or remove the need for denture adhesives whilst the strength of the metal makes them very strong and durable.
