Our iTero scanner has streamlined the way we do our labwork. Instead of taking impressions like usual, we can scan your teeth and have a digital copy of your mouth within minutes. What’s more, we can then print a detailed 3D model of your teeth, which is much more detailed than general impressions.

What is an iTero scanner?

An iTero scanner is a cool digital, intra-oral scanner which can be used to scan and capture a 3D image of your teeth and gums. These can then be used for orthodontic and restorative purposes.

How does the iTero scanner work?

By using a radiation-free laser within a hand held wand, the dentist/nurse who will be canning your teeth will be able to freely capture all aspets of your mouth, completely pain free.

Can anyone have a scan done?

Yes! Anyone can have a scan done, as it is an impression/mould free treatment, which is great for patients who have a gag reflex.

How long does a scan take?

Typically, a scan can be done within 2 – 3 minutes, whilst you are there in the surgery, and it will be available to view on screen instantly.

Can I have a scan if I can’t tolerate impressions?

Yep! The iTero scanner is perfect for any patients who can’t tolerate impressions as no moulds are needed.

What treatments can use the scanner?

The iTero scanner is typically used for orthodontic treatment, such as Invisalign and retainers, restorative treatment, such as crowns and inlays/onlays and cosmetic treatments such as whitening and bonding.
